Ms. Alia Almashni

        Ms. Alia M. Almashni is an Adjunct Faculty at Cuyahoga Community College where she has been teaching several courses for more than 10 years, such as: Beginning Spanish Language and Culture - Levels I & II, and Intermediate Spanish - Levels I & II. She also teaches Spanish, Arabic language and culture at various counties in Ohio.

 

Ms. Almashni’s parents emigrated from the Middle East to Puerto Rico, where she grew up and spent most of her childhood. Subsequently, she also spent a significant amount of time in Jerusalem, Jordan, and several Latin American countries. Besides teaching languages, she is the CEO and founder of Almashni International Cultural Competency (Almashni CCC, LLC), which provides cultural competency training about the Arabic and Latino cultures. Ms. Almashni is a committed educator with a real passion for life-long learning. She believes it is her responsibility as an educator to help her students develop their full potential in the Spanish language, while exposing them to the rich and diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.

Ms. Almashni’s professional experience includes teaching, coaching, and public speaking. She is often invited as a speaker and has conducted specific cultural awareness trainings at many institutions, including:

· Baldwin Wallace College                      · Cleveland Municipal Court 

· Cleveland State University                    · Cuyahoga Community College 

· Cuyahoga County Library                     · John Carroll University

 

In addition to her multiple roles as a teacher, public speaker, and cultural consultant, Ms. Almashni works full-time at the Cleveland Municipal Court/Housing Division as Housing Court Specialist, specifically as a mediator.  She also provides language services in Spanish and Arabic to the court system.
